American DJ Marea Stamper, aka The Blessed Madonna premiered a new song “Shades Of Love” on BBC Radio 1's Future Sounds with Clara Amfo.
The song is the follow-up to “We Still Believe” with Jamie Principle, which was released last week.
This time, The Blessed Madonna teamed up with South African band The Joy on the track.
The track was written by James Vincent McMorrow, Marea Stamper, Paul Epworth, and The Joy.
Produced by The Blessed Madonna, Paul Epworth, and James Vincent McMorrow.
Marea Stamper told Clara Amfo about the collaboration with The Joy, “I mean, they're just so incredibly inspiring. For all of the reasons that you would think there's no one else that sounds like them. I am such a huge fan. I like so many people follow them on Instagram and the chance to work with them. And have them vocal this after it was written. I was just incredibly honored that they would even consider. I can't believe it. It's really happening now.”
- In addition to The Joy, Marea Stamper worked with Paul Epworth and James Vincent McMorrow on the track.
Marea Stamper said, “And we were there and I was kind of working on arranging the background vocals and from The Joy. I was like, say a la la la... love and there was this moment of like, we were all so happy. And it just I don't know if that's the moment. That's right. I remember. It was one of the best days of my life.”
Marea Stamper explained how make the music, “I think you wait until you get that feeling. And if you don't feel it yourself, then you know it's not quite right yet. And I go through long iterations of dozens of versions of things and with the people I work with. And there is this kind of just sense of like you have to have that moment where it feels like touchable joy.”
