Skrillex, Fred again.. & Flowdan Premiere New Song “Rumble” on BBC Radio 1
American DJ Skrillex, British singer-songwriter Fred again.. and British grime MC Flowdan premiered a new song “Rumble” on BBC Radio 1's Future Sounds with Jack Saunders on January 4, 2023.
The song will appear on Skrillex's upcoming double album “QFF / DGTC”, which is expected to be released in 2023.
The new album is his first project in nine years since the 2014 debut album “Recess”.
The track was written by Elley Frances Duhé, Fred Gibson, Jordan Douglas, Marc Veira, Skrillex, and Tyshane Thomas. Produced by Skrillex and Fred Again.
Fred Again first performed the song during his DJ sets in August 2022.
Also, following the song, Skrillex will release another song called “Way Back” featuring British singer-songwriter PinkPantheress and American rapper Trippie Redd on January 5, 2023.
- Fred Again told Jack Saunders about working with Skrillex, “We started it like five years ago. Dan, you told me I can't remember the like time ago and then the first time I ever met Sonny (Skrillex), I played him the first version that we had just like vocal that verse. And Sonny always remembered it and always makes me be like, 'can you send me the sentence or that thing, or can you send me the sense that?' and then I'm like, I don't know, three, four years later..”
Skrillex continued, “I did something. I didn't like it. I thought I ruined the song. I was scared to play it and then and then we started working on it and like months ago and everyone and there's some controversy, because we actually kicked Kieran (Four Tet) off the project. You know what's funny is because like Four Tet, I feel like he's an honorary producer on everything and we do pretty much a ghost.”
Flowdan said, “Yeah, to be fair, it was like as a big surprise because as Fred said, like we worked with so many years ago, so it definitely was a track I forgot about. So like other than having it online and on certain platforms and stuff like that when actually linked up with Fred again and through that same kind of, he showed me the details that we've actually added to the phone and stuff like that. There's only one reaction I know that our music lovers gonna have enough tears.”
