Tom Odell Performs “Another Love” & “Best Day Of My Life” on BBC Jools' Annual Hootenanny
British singer-songwriter Tom Odell appeared on BBC Jools' Annual Hootenanny to perform “Another Love” and “Best Day Of My Life”.
Jools Holland hosted his annual hootenanny for the ultimate New Year’s Eve party.
In addition to Tom Odell, the program featured George Ezra, Self Esteem, Cat Burns, Andy Fairweather Low, Roland Gift, Gabrielle, The Real Thing, and Rachael and Vilray, as well as the return of Ruby Turner and the Pipes and Drums of the 1st Battalion Scots Guards.
“Another Love” is his debut single and was released from his debut EP “Songs from Another Love” in 2012.
The song reached No. 10 on the UK Singles chart and amassed 1 billion streams on Spotify, so far.
“Best Day Of My Life” is featured on his fifth studio album “Best Day of My Life”, which was released in October 2022.- The album is his first project as an independent artist after leaving Columbia Records.
Tom Odell told Apple Music about the song, “This was one of the first songs that was written for the album. It was originally titled ‘Worst Day of My Life,’ and the original idea was evidently somewhat more depressing. But I changed the title to ‘Best Day of My Life,’ and it somehow kept its sadness but became more poignant. It’s about the euphoria you feel after really getting to the bottom. It’s the sunrise which you suddenly stop and notice, the joy of small things. You are suddenly rooted in the present, and it’s this beautiful relief. It’s this weight coming off your shoulders.” -
