  • half•alive Performs “Brighton” & “Did I Make You Up?” on VEVO

  • Long Beach-based alt-pop trio half·alive, consisting of Josh Taylor (vocals), Brett Kramer (drums) and J. Tyler Johnson (bass), performed “Brighton” and “Did I Make You Up?” on Vevo live series.

The trio filmed their perfomance at Vevo studios in New York.
The two songs are featured on their sophomore album “Conditions of a Punk”, which was released earlier this month.
“Brighton” was written by Brett Kramer, J. Tyler Johnson and Josh Taylor. Produced by Mike Crossey.
“Did I Make You Up?” was written by Brett Kramer, J. Tyler Johnson, Josh Taylor, Mark Williams, Raul Cubina and Scott Harris. Produced by Ojivolta.
The trio said, “Stopped by Vevo studios in NYC for some stripped-back performances.. On this visit we challenged ourselves to arrange these 2 songs in a way that only used the instruments we could play in the room.”
Josh Taylor told Vevo about the album “Conditions of a Punk” is the group's first album “where we allowed ourselves to write on the topic of love.”

Josh Taylor said of “Did I Make You Up?”, “'Did I Make You Up?' represents the moment of wonder; after a breakup & the dust settles, you wonder if the person you were with was the person you broke up with, or if you were simply muting their flaws & projecting who you wanted them to be. JA has been performing with us since our very first show, so naturally, this video is in some ways an extension of that show. Those who've seen it will recognize the dance integration, as well as the giant sheet we often deploy throughout the show for shadow play. Only this time, it's 5 times as big.”
