Donate to support families affected by the crisis in Ukraine ➔ Verra Cruz Returns With New Song “The World Is Crashing In”
British alt-rock band Verra Cruz, consisting of Marc James (vocals/guitar), Jimmy Cooke (drums) and Henry Cross (bass), returned with a new song “The World Is Crashing In” on November 11, 2022.
It is their first single in two years since the 2020 single “Like a Lion”.
The track was written by Marc James, Jimmy Cooke and Henry Cross.
Marc James said of the song, “'The World Is Crashing In' was written during the painful season of Henry's divorce. It was tough going for all of us to watch 2 people we loved dearly, separate. For me it brought up painful memories from my own childhood. The second verse was written from a time in my own childhood. Our family home had been flooded due to a burst pipe, it wrecked so much stuff including my mum's wedding dress that she had kept. It seemed like a dark and apt metaphor for the impending carnage of what was to come.”
The band recorded the song with producer Udo Rinklin at The Old Chapel Studios in Germany.
They said, “We re-recorded the drums at The Old Chapel Studios down the road from Jimmy. Bob & Jen at CatBeach hired Bryan Cook to mix and we loved his mix instantly!”- source : Apple Music
