Donate to support families affected by the crisis in Ukraine ➔ Gabry Ponte & JP Cooper Team Up for New Song “With You”
Italian DJ Gabry Ponte joined forces with British singer-songwriter JP Cooper to release a new song “With You” on October 21, 2022.
This marks the first collaboration between Gabry Ponte and JP Cooper.
For Gabry Ponte, the song is the follow up to “Never Be Alone” with Sash!, which was released on October 14, 2022.
While, for JP Cooper, the song is the third collaborative track after the released of his sophomore album “She”, following “Midnight Sun” with Norwegian DJ Matoma and “Fire” with Canadian electronic caribbean music duo Banx & Ranx.
The track was written by JP Cooper and Gabry Ponte.
Gabry Ponte said of the song, “It all started when I first heard JP's incredible top-line. He really impressed me and suddenly I found myself in the studio working on it. The melody immediately inspired me with a pop-dance vibe. The text played a primary role during the production process: I think the hook is something magical and evocative 'I like me when I'm with you'. Simple and powerful! The production itself is catchy and radio-friendly: the initial whistles, as well as the main melody, give a light and nostalgic taste of the summer just ended."
JP Cooper added, “This song had been on my hard drive for a long time, with a less produced guise, of course. I knew there was some magic, but wasn't sure where to place the song. Then came Gabry, and he gave the song the perfect twist! I love how a simple and fun idea can turn into such a great moment of joy. I am very happy with this collaboration and the final result.
