Anna Orbison Releases Debut Song “After All”
- Los Angeles-based rock band The Sound of Ghosts' vocalist Anna Orbison released her first solo single “After All” on October 14, 2022.
The song is a catchy upbeat indie pop song about realizing that you are not with the right person. Anna Orbison wrote this song during a particularly challenging point in her life and relationship, as a way to sort through her feelings at the time.
In her solo music, she combines intimate personal experiences with indie pop beats and melodies that fall well outside the band's Americana Rock sound.
It was written by Anna Orbison and produced by Mike Post.
Anna Orbison said of the song, “I'm releasing my first solo single after being in bands for years and I was hoping you could review it for me. It's an Indie Pop song I wrote after discovering my husband was addicted to opiates.”
- Anna Orbison grew up in Boulder, Colorado and found a love of music and performing from a young age. She studied piano and flute early in life and later discovered her voice in the school choir and theatre programs at Boulder High. She attended University of the Arts in Philadelphia before moving to New York to pursue musical theatre. Anna performed Off-Broadway and in a number of regional theatre productions before making the move to Los Angeles.
Once in LA, she acted in episodes of Jane the Virgin, Lopez Tonight, Guiding Light, and others.
After years of singing other people's music, she began to explore writing her own songs as a means of moving through life's challenges. Anna describes herself as being, “thrilled and terrified” to be putting her solo music out into the world.
