New York City-based singer-songwriter Melanie Penn released her sixth studio album “More Alive Vol. 2” on July 15, 2022.
The album comprises 11-track, produced by Ben Shive. It is a sequel to the 2020 album “More Alive Vol. 1”.
Melanie Penn said of the album, “More Alive Vol. 2 is the follow up to More Alive Vol. 1! These songs are the soundtrack as we all emerge from a difficult two years. They ring true with faith, hope, love, energy and the promise that every risk is worth it."
She continued, “2 years and 20 songs comprise More Alive Vols 1 & 2. some of the songs were set to release in March 2020 - then the world changed. I wrote more, we changed course. I didn't know it at the time but the whole project is in memory of my dad, while also looking forward now to this unknown place ahead of us - the post-Covid Renaissance. it will be a Renaissance don't let the naysayers tell you different, promise me you won't listen to those naysayers ok.”- vgNvoY0byog
From the album, she has dropped a new music video for “Follow You”.
The video was filmed in Iceland and directed by Aaron Craig. The track was written by Melanie Penn, and Ben Shive, who also produced it.
She said of the video, “We knew we wanted some kind of filmic journey or wandering through the wilderness but we weren't sure of the right location. During one conversation Aaron suggested, 'Hey why don't we go to Iceland?' It turned out to be perfect - the landscapes in Iceland change every 2 miles! So we got to capture the idea of traveling through different desolate locations. It was the perfect metaphor for 'Follow You.'”- source : Apple Music
