  • Eminem Releases New Song “The King and I” featuring CeeLo Green from Baz Luhrmann's Film “ELVIS” Soundtrack

  • American rapper Eminem released a new song “The King and I” from Baz Luhrmann's upcoming Elvis Presley biopic “ELVIS” soundtrack on June 16, 2022.

He teamed up with American rapper CeeLo Green on the track. This marks the first collaboration between Eminem and CeeLo Green.
Eminem announced his involvement in the film and teased the song on Instagram back in May.
The song sampled Elvis Presley's 1957 single “Jailhouse Rock”.
The track was written by Marshall Mathers, Andre Young, Luis Resto, Thomas Callaway, Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller. Produced by Dr. Dre and Eminem.
The “ELVIS” soundtrack features music from a diverse selection of artists, with some singing original compositions and others covering tracks from the king's extensive catalog.
Other contributors include lead actor Austin Butler, Doja Cat, Tame Impala, Jack White, Kacey Musgraves, Nardo Wick, Stevie Nicks, Swae Lee, and Diplo. Additionally, some of Elvis Presley's own recordings will appear.

The film “ELVIS” chronicles the life and career of singer and actor Elvis Presley.
The film was directed by Baz Luhrmann, starring Austin Butler, Tom Hanks, Helen Thomson, Richard Roxburgh, Olivia DeJonge, Luke Bracey, Natasha Bassett, David Wenham, Kelvin Harrison Jr., Xavier Samuel, and Kodi Smit-McPhee.
The film will be dedicated to the memory of The Ladd Company's founder Alan Ladd Jr., who died on March 2, 2022.
Also the film will have its world premiere at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival, and is scheduled for a theatrical release on June 24, 2022.
Baz Luhrmann said of the film, “In this modern era, the life of Elvis Presley could not be a better canvas on which to explore America in the Fifties, Sixties, Seventies. It was 42 years, but that's three great lives put into one. What's extraordinary about it is that life is culturally at the center of the Fifties, socially the Sixties, and actually the Seventies.”
