Austin-based funk rock band Steady Legend announced their new EP “Say Hey” would be released on July 1, 2022.
The EP comprises 4-track and is their first project in seven years since the 2015 self-titled debut album.
Also the EP is their first recorded release with lead singer Analysa Gonzales.
The EP was produced by CJ Eirksson and all the songs on the EP were written by the band's guitarist, Michael Mancuso.
The rhythm section and horns were recorded at Tall Sky Studio in East Austin with engineer Dane Foltin. The vocals and keyboards were recorded at Michael Mancuso's home studio.
The dand said, “This record just comes from the hard work we've been putting in over the years and we're excited to finally get to release this record after sitting on it for nearly 2 years because of COVID.”
From the EP, the band released the lead single called “Bad Boy” on June 10, 2022.
The song is inspired by a breakup that Anaylsa went through before joining the band.
The band said of the song, “Her ex was manipulative and toyed with her emotions, and joining the band gave her the strength to express herself creatively after the breakup.”- source : Apple Music
