Carly Rae Jepsen Returns with New Song “Western Wind”
Canadian singer-songwriter Carly Rae Jepsen returned with a new song “Western Wind” along with a music video on May 6, 2022.
The song is her first music in two years since the 2020 singles "Let's Be Friends" and “It's Not Christmas Till Somebody Cries”.
She wrote the song with producer Rostam Batmanglij, who also made “Warm Blood” in her 2015 album “E•MO•TION”.
The video was directed by Taylor Fauntleroy, who filmed in Southern California.
She first performed the song at Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival last month.
Carly Rae Jepsen said in a statement that the song came from a place of deep solitude during quarantine, a period of time that she said pointed her most introspective songwriting yet.- Photo by Meredith Jenks
