Tears For Fears Performs “The Tipping Point” featuring BBC Concert Orchestra on BBC Radio 2 Piano Month
British pop rock band Tears For Fears, consisting of Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith, appeared on BBC Radio 2 Piano Month to perform “The Tipping Point” featuring BBC Concert Orchestra at Maida Vale Studios in London.
The song “The Tipping Point” is the title track of their upcoming seventh studio album. It was written by Charlton Pettus and Roland Orzabal.
The track was inspired by Roland Orzabal’s loss of his wife, who passed away in 2017.
Roland Orzabal said of the song, “That’s the tipping point, and it’s almost like part of you is willing to cross that threshold because you are in that purgatory while they’re in purgatory.”
Roland Orzabal explained of the song as the image of a hospital room where the person in the bed is more dead than alive, “That’s the tipping point, and it’s almost like part of you is willing to cross that threshold because you are in that purgatory while they’re in purgatory.”
The new album is set to be released on February 25, 2022. It is their first album in 18 years since the 2004 album “Everybody Loves a Happy Ending”.
“The album is definitely an adult record,” Curt Smith said. “It’s our viewpoint from 40 more years of living after our first album.”
Roland Orzabal added, “We’re exercising our tastes far more intelligently now than we did back then.”- source : BBC Radio 2
