The Knocks Teams Up With Dragonette for New Song “Slow Song”
New York-based electro-pop duo The Knocks teamed up with Canadian electronic music band Dragonette to release a new song “Slow Song” along with a music video.
This marks the second collaboration between The Knocks and Dragonette.
Both artists wrote together “Love Me Like That” with Carly Rae Jepsen, which appeared on the duo's album “55” in 2016.
The track was written by Ben Ruttner, James Patterson, Styalz Fuego, Blu DeTiger, WILLA and Martina Sorbara. Produced by The Knocks and Styalz Fuego.
The accompanying video was directed by Austin Peters.
The Knocks shared on social media, “Slow Song song & video with Dragonette & Aquaria are out now!! We're already seeing so many of you love it and it makes us so happy…This song really encompasses what we are all about in so many ways & why we called this album History…. Little bit of story time here ….- 1) One of our first tours ever was opening for Dragonette, they let us stay on their bus without ever meeting us and it ended up being one of the best times ever. To reconnect almost 10 years later for this was really special.
2) The musicians on this song are some of our closest friends and literal family. Our girl Blu DeTiger wrote & played that incredible neck breaking bassline, Rossi of St. Lucia on guitars & Ben's cousin (and NYN tour drummer) Nick Brown on the drums.
3) The INCREDIBLE music video was directed by one of our oldest friends Austin Peters & produced by our #1 girl @itsme_ek … Austin was one of our first friends in NYC and the director of the videos for House Party & Collect My Love, where we first were introduced to the star of the show Aquaria before she was a Drag Race winning international icon.
To have all these people we love come together to create something that feels so authentic & special is something we really pride ourselves on.” - source : Apple Music
