Luna Li Release New Song “Silver Into Rain” featuring beabadoobee
- Korean-Canadian singer-songwriter Luna Li teamed up with Filipino-British singer-songwriter beabadoobee to release a new song “Silver Into Rain”.
The song will appear on her upcoming debut album “Duality”, which is set to be released on March 4, 2022.
It was written by Jacob Bugden, Hannah Kim and Beatrice Laus. Produced by Braden Sauder.
The accompanying music video was directed by angelicamílash and Maya Balkaran.
Luna Li said of the song, “I wrote this song one spring when it rained for almost two weeks straight without stopping. It felt like my shoes and clothes were constantly drenched and never drying out, and the rain just became part of my being for those weeks. I was feeling a bit down because I thrive in the sun and really missed it, and ended up writing the sad and self-deprecating lyrics for this song over that time.”
She continued, “I was just learning how to play the harp at the time but wasn't really skilled enough to play anything real yet, so I ended up just adding some ambient harp swells in the bridge of the song. It was the very first time I played harp on a song. I was listening to the SALES LP nonstop and their vibey guitar riffs definitely inspired the guitars on 'Silver into Rain.'”
- She added, “I definitely had the live show in mind when writing the instrumental section of this song. I thought the pause in the music in the middle of the song would be a really fun thing to pull off live. At our very last rehearsal before leaving for Japanese Breakfast's US tour, we last-minute added “Silver into Rain” in the set and it ended up being a highlight of the show.”
beabadoobee said, “Hannah and I were speaking online and talked about working together on a track. She came to me with a few ideas and 'Silver into Rain' really stuck out. I worked on a section with my guitarist in the studio and love how it's come out. She's a very talented player! I can't wait for people to hear it.”
