Simple Plan Returns With New Song “The Antidote”
- Canadian rock band Simple Plan is back with a new song “The Antidote” on November 5, 2021.
It is their first music in two years since the fifth studio album “Taking One for the Team”.
The track was written by Pierre Bouvier, Chuck Comeau and Andrew Goldstein.
“‘The Antidote’ sounds like a throwback to our classic Simple Plan sound but with a modern twist,” Simple Plan said in a press release. “It has all the elements our fans have come to love and expect from our band: a big, energetic chorus and honest and heartfelt lyrics that deal with life and the struggles we all face.”
The band made the song during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The band said, “We wrote and recorded the song before the pandemic hit, and in lots of ways, it has become even more relevant after everything that happened over the last 20 months.”
- They continued, “A lot of people are going through some tough times right now, and the song talks about how important it is to have someone or something to turn to when life gets really hard. It can be a life partner, a friend, a family member, something you love to do and are really passionate about. It doesn’t really matter, and it can be anything.”
They added, “For a lot of our fans and for us, it’s been music. Its power to heal, comfort and be a lifeline has never been greater and more needed than now. We really hope this song will mean a lot to our fans and help them deal with the difficult moments we’re all facing.”
