Lola Young Releases New EP “After Midnight”: Streaming
British singer-songwriter Lola Young has released a new EP “After Midnight” via Island Records, along with a new music video for “Bad Game”.
The EP is her first project since the 2019 debut project “Intro”. Produced by Lola Young and Manuka.
Lola Young said of the EP, “My thoughts, my worries, my past lovers and my present ones too, my guilt, my fears, my dreams, wishes and all the crazy ass thoughts I have when the sun rises and I can't sleep for shit. After midnight. The truest form of me.”
The 4-track EP tells the story of one night in her life, tracing the hours between midnight and 5 a.m. She moves from feeling confident and in control to gradually becoming more vulnerable and, eventually, entering a frenzied state of mind.
She shared on social media, “This is something i've been working up to for a while. i know, its full of sad songs, im sorry, but i have always found beauty in pain, and through this music i have been able to make sense of love in so many different ways. This is a project i called After Midnight probably because i like what happens after the moon comes out, (lmao🤢) but also because these are ballads i feel like should be listened to on that late night train home when your ex is getting on your nerves, life is confusing you, but you're on ur way home to sleep, and i think this project may help u find peace in that ;) ”- Background Photo by Cameron Bensleyy
