- The Golden State Warriors won the 2017 NBA Finals and Kevin Durant received MVP. The team is NBA champions for the second time in three seasons.
Durant was named the MVP of the 2017 NBA Finals following a 39-point, seven-rebound performance that cemented his place in the pantheon of great players who rise to the occasion when the game matters most.
Kevin Durant moved to the Warriors from the Thunder last year. The move was received negatively by the public and NBA analysts that the sama as LeBron James's 2010 off-season departure from the Cleveland Cavaliers to join the Miami Heat. But he proved that his next chapter was right at the 2017 NBA Finals.
After 2017 Finals MVP win, he talked about LeBron James on a interview with NBA;
"He's the only person that I was looking at since 2012. He's the only one that I looked at and said, 'He's the only guy that can look me eye-to-eye.' And I knew it was gonna be a battle. I was trying to challenge him. He averaged a damn triple-double. Can't stop the guy. But we battled, and I told him, 'We tied up now.'"
And He told his his mother, Wanda, "We did it. I told you when I was eight years old. We did it."
Defending champion the Cleveland Cavaliers lost three games in 2017 NBA Finals, but the team won Game 4 on June 10. The Cavaliers competed to stop the Warriors' win on Game 5 and LeBron James earned 41 points, 13 rebounds and 8 assist. But Cleveland were defeated in five games by the Warriors to lose their second Finals series in three years.
