American record producer Pharrell Williams appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live to perform “Letter To My Godfather”.
He wrote the song with Chad Hugo for Netflix documentary “The Black Godfather” last June. The song gives praise to Clarence Avant, who is known for his work as a music executive, film producer, and entrepreneur. He is credited as one of the biggest innovators for African Americans in the music industry.
“Clarence Avant connects us all through his incredible impact since before I was born up until now,” Pharrell Williams said in a statement. “He’s the godfather to so many of us — and not just African Americans, most of the industry.”- hOTaTJGoDcQ
