Sam Era Premieres Debut Song “Nothing Was The Same”
- Phoenix-based R&B singer-songwriter Sam Era has delivered a debut song “Nothing Was The Same” via SoundCloud.
A new music video for the song was premiered on October 3rd, directed by TheReelMJ.
The song will appear on her upcoming debut album "Songs For The Broken Heart", which is scheduled for release in January 2019.
She has worked with Devon Hancock for the song and the album. She plans to release the second single “The Worst Thing” on October 12th.
“'Nothing Was The Same' is almost like a coming of age song for me,” Sam Era said of the song in an interview with The Hype Magazine. "It was the realization I came to throughout the writing process, that if you’re in a relationship with someone, but they never acknowledge you, or your relationship, that something is missing there. It sounds crazy, but when I was 21 years old and crazy in love, I just thought it meant that no one understood what I had with that particular person. But I’ve learned now that not a lot of good comes from secret relationships.”
She said about the album, “I am most excited to drop my album in January! It’s been such a long time coming I’m so excited for people to hear it in full, and really get to know the story the album tells and my vision as an artist.”
