Toronto-based singer-songwriter Victoria Sheahan, aka lemin. has released her sophomore EP “hold A: act 2”. The EP was premiered exclusively on Billboard.
The EP comprises of 8-track including the lead single "My Body" the release back in June.
Originally, she started 12 songs project for her debut EP. But she separated into two EPs, and released 4 tracks as the EP "hold A: act 1" in 2017.
The EP “hold A: act 2” features modern R&B ballads like cinematic sound with her soft vocals.
“This project is really my first baby -- all of the songs I wrote and/or produced in my studio apartment in Toronto,” lemin. told Billboard. “Some of the vocals, like the chorus on ‘View of it All’ and harmonies on ‘Pink Champagne,’ are the originals from the nights I wrote the tracks.”- Victoria Sheahan has started to produce her music since she was about 14 years old.
Before releasing the EPs, she has posted her original songs to SoundCloud since 2015 like "You Know Too Much", "Better For You", "Your Friends (Interlude)" and "Dope Baby".
Her stage name lemin. (pronounced "lemon"), which came from the 1960’s Volkswagen ad.
She said, "The idea came to me when I saw a Volkswagen ad from the 1960’s with just the car and “Lemon” in bold type underneath. “Lemon” is the word for a car that is defective, and the ad explained that that particular car had a scratch on the chrome glove compartment and that it needed to be replaced. By calling myself Lemon., I’m not saying that I’m defective, but I’m not perfect, and in my opinion imperfection is beautiful." - source : Billboard
