Donate to support families affected by the crisis in Ukraine ➔ Johnny Marr Premieres New Music Video for “Hi Hello”
Manchester-based singer-songwriter and former Smiths's guitarist Johnny Marr dropped a new music video for “Hi Hello”, directed by Mat Bancroft and Johnny Marr.
The song is the second single off of his upcoming third solo album "Call the Comet", which is set to be released June 15, 2018.
He said of the song In a press statement, “one of the songs that just fell into my hands and mind as I was playing. The tune evoked something natural so I just followed it and it felt like I had to sing something personal, something we might all feel about someone sometime.”
The album is his first LP in four years and comprises of 12-track. It is inspired by both Brexit and the election of Donald Trump.
Johnny Marr told Rolling Stone of the album;
"I wouldn't call it a concept record. But it's got a unifying theme going through it about the Earth welcoming a different intelligence from the cosmos to save us from our own plight. The title Call the Comet is sort of a conscious plea for a new way."-
