American singer-songwriter Sufjan Stevens has released a new music video for "Mystery of Love" from Luca Guadagnino's film "Call Me by Your Name" soundtrack.
The video is full of footage from the film. The song was written by Sufjan Stevens. He was ordered to write one song for the film, but he wrote two songs. Another song is remixed piano version of "Futile Devices", its original version was released in 2010.
The film’s director, Luca Guadagnino tols 4:3 Film in an interview;
"I approached Sufjan and told him about the film and navigated him through the ideas that I had. It was quite a long process that ended up with him saying that he was happy to do not one song but two. But he also made us an arrangement of “Futile Devices” for piano, which was beautiful."
"Call Me by Your Name" is beased on the 2007 novel of the same name by André Aciman. The filme was directed by Luca Guadagnino, starring Michael Stuhlbarg, Amira Casar, Esther Garrel, and Victoire Du Bois.
The film was premieres at the Sundance Film Festival on January 22, 2017 and nominated for Best Motion Picture, Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor at the 75th Golden Globe Awards.
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences recently announced that "Mystery of Love" made the shortlist for the Best Original Song Oscar.-
