London-based singer-songwriter Charli XCX stopped by Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 show and premiered a new song “Unlock It” from her upcoming fourth mixtape "Pop 2", which is out on December 15.
The song features German pop singer-songwriter Kim Petras and American rapper Jay Park, who appered on Charli's music video "Boys". It was written by Charlotte Aitchison, Park Jae-beom Kim Petras and Alex Cook.
Last week, she unveiled "Out of My Head" with Alma and Tove Lo from the mixtape on BBC Radio 1. The new track is following it.
"Pop 2" comprises 10-track, featuring guest appearances from Carly Rae Jepsen, Alma, Tove Lo, Caroline Polachek, Brooke Candy, Cupcakke, Pabllo Vittar, Dorian Electra, Mykki Blanco, Tommy Cash, Kim Petras, Jay Park and MØ. The mixtapr follows up "Number 1 Angel", which was released in March 2017.
Charli XCX explained what era she thinks her music would be most appreciated;
“If I could pick at a time, I would have loved to be a musician and in the 70s. I feel like I would have really crushed it. I would have been a good time for me you know.”-
