Official Trailer for “Ford v. Ferrari” Starring Matt Damon & Christian Bale
- The 20th Century Fox has unveiled the first trailers for the new racing historical film “Ford v. Ferrari”.
The film is based on true story, which was the 1966 24 Hours of Le Mans race in France.
Directed by James Mangold, starring Matt Damon and Christian Bale, while Jon Bernthal, Caitriona Balfe, Tracy Letts, Josh Lucas, Noah Jupe, Remo Girone and Ray McKinnon.
The stage of story is back in 1966, the 34th Grand Prix of Endurance, the 1966 24 Hours of Le Mans took place on June 18th and 19th.
At that time, Ferrari had took consecutive victory for 6 years since 1960. But American constructor Ford contributed Ford GT40 to the race, then claimed the their first victory of 24 Hours of Le Mans. Also Ford took 2nd and 3rd place, sweeping the podium.
This was the first overall win at Le Mans for the Ford GT40 as well as the first overall win for an American constructor.
- Matt Damon played as a car designer Carroll Shelby, who is best known for his involvement with the AC Cobra and Mustang (later known as Shelby Mustangs) for Ford Motor Company. Christian Bale played as a driver Mollie Miles.
Filming began on July 30th, 2018 on different locations in California, New Orleans, Atlanta, Savannah, Statesboro and Le Mans, France.
Originally, the film was supposed to be released on June 28th. Finally, the 20th Century Fox announced that the film is scheduled to be released on November 15, 2019.
