Florida-based singer-songwriter MasonRoseGray released a new song “Rebel” with an accompanying music video on October 8, 2021.
The song follows up “Unrecognized”, but features psychedelic rock sound unlike previous songs.
MasonRoseGray said of the song, “I wanted to break away from the sweeter and softer side of my music and show a more rebellious side of me! As an artist I didn't want to be put in a box or musical category. I wanted to be able to explore all creative avenues including rock n' roll. Rebel unleashed a different part of my psych and enabled me to explore other parts of myself.”
Her musical inspirations for “Rebel” include David Bowie, Blondie and The Strokes.
She continued, “Rebel was written to unite all the outsiders, the ones that never quite fit in to society or it's ideals. Everyday we're constricted by rules and regulations. This anthem has an angsty punk vibe making you feel reckless, liberated and alive! A real head banger with a kick ass guitar solo, leaving you on the edge of your seat. It's raw and real, with explosive energy. This thrashy garage band track screams 'I don't give a fuck.'”
The track will appear on her upcoming debut album “OMNIPRESENCE”, which is expected to be released in 2022.- source : Apple Music
