Little Galaxies Releases New Album “One with the Waking Sea”: Streaming
- American psych-rock band Little Galaxies, consisting of Jeanna Fournier (vocals), Amir Eshraghi (guitar), Andreas Sandnes (bass) and Christian Johnson (drums), released their second studio album “One with the Waking Sea” on September 10, 2021 via Coconut Spaceship Records.
The album comprises of 10-track, produced by Sejo Navajas. The band recorded at the historic 4th Street Recording Studio in Santa Monica.
It is their first album in eight years. After the release of the debut album “Patterns” in 2013, frontwoman Jeanna Fournier was in a car accident, the band had a hiatus for three years.
“After we released our first album, I was in a car accident and we had to take a few years off for me to heal from my injuries,” Jeanna Fournier told Music Connection. “A lot of the songs on the album were written during that time and inspired by my car accident. I was unable to sing and play guitar for quite a while. Playing helped heal and get me to where I am now.”
She continued, “I did years of voice therapy to get me back to where I am. I want this album to be inspiring to people who are trying to overcome something, heal and find peace when they're dealing with ups and downs in their lives.”
The band added, “The album explores central themes like accepting fate, getting closer to what brings us joy, and learning how to co-exist in an ever-changing world that can throw us into the trenches at any moment.”
The album features all those genres together, including folk, pop, rock and psychedelic music, to create something of their own sound.
