Conor Albert Releases New Song “Moonlight” featuring Mac Ayers
London-based music producer Conor Albert announced his new project “Collage 2” will be released later this year.
“Collage 2” is a continuation of the work that began with debut EP “Collage 1”, which was released back in April.
From the new project, he unveiled the first single entitled “Moonlight” via Young Poet Records on June 16th.
This time, he teamed up with American R&B singer-songwriter Mac Ayers on the track.
Conor Albert said of the song, “In October 2020 I got a message from Mac on TikTok of all places. I'd been posting a beat every day and he had stumbled across one of mine on his For You Page. He messaged me and asked for a beat that later became 'Nothing Else' on Mac's latest album. After that we had a very-late-night Zoom session where Mac and I chatted for hours and made zero music. Right at the end I sent him a demo of a disco inspired beat I'd made a couple days prior with my good mate Harry Greene, who's an incredible musician. He liked it and within a few days sent me all the vocals and then it was up to me to finish the track!”- He continued, “In this track I take a much more old school producer role, where I'm actually not playing many instruments and instead enlisting the help of my musician friends. Aside from Harry who plays the Prince-inspired guitars and wrote the main riff with me, my close friend Seth Tackaberry played bass on the track. Seth is a BEAST and he has some crazy moments in the very last chorus, it was an honour to have him playing on the track. Lastly Matilda Mann sings BV's on the tune. She has such an incredible tone that takes the track to another level!”
He said of the new EP, “The next 6 months are gonna be filled with loads of new music with a greater focus on collaboration, even more than on Collage 1. I'm enlisting the help of all the new friends I've made over the last year to make the best possible project I can. I'm super excited.” -
21 year-old Conor Albert started making beats at the age of 8, finding an audience for his early demos on SoundCloud. It was listening to FKJ and Jordan Rakei whilst learning piano in his teens that encouraged him to make soulful, jazz influenced music.
He demonstrated his musicianship and production across his 2020 debut EP “Collage 1”, including singles with Marie Dahlstrøm and Carmody. A frequent collaborator, he established a creative partnership with rising talent Alice Auer on joint project “Smile”. - source : Spotify
