Global Citizen “VAX Live: The Concert to Reunite the World” featuring Jennifer Lopez, Eddie Vedder, Foo Fighters, J Balvin and H.E.R
Global Citizen took place “VAX Live: The Concert to Reunite the World” at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California on May 8, 2021.
The event is part of Global Citizen's campaign to help medical workers in the world's poorest countries quickly receive COVID-19 vaccines.
Selena Gomez hosted the event and featured performances by Jennifer Lopez, Eddie Vedder, Foo Fighters, J Balvin, Picture This and H.E.R.
Also, the event highlights first responders and health care workers' efforts during the pandemic.
Selena Gomez called essential and frontline workers “reliable and brave”.
“Many of us had to stay home, but you all didn't have a choice,” Selena Gomez said. “You set an example for all of us, both in how you stayed on the job and that we need to get vaccinated as soon as possible.”
The event helped mobilize $302 million from governments, corporations, and philanthropists to aid the fight against the coronavirus and secure more than 26 million vaccine doses for those in need.- source : Global Citizen
