GANGS OF KIN Premieres New Song “Broke”
- Dutch singer-songwriter Joël Gaerthé, aka GANGS OF KIN premiered a new song “Broke” on March 24, 2021.
The song follows up the collaboration song “Rollercoaster” with Full Crate and Elique Curiel, which was released back in February.
With a hint of futuristic funk, “Broke” is the song that embodies Joël Gaerthé evolution into GANGS OF KIN and beyond.
The song is a tune to everyone's individual drums, drawing on his unique vocal range and psychedelic style to convey the effects of mental health and the taboo around it.
The cover design of the single was created by the worldly renowned fashion photographer Elizaveta Porodina.
Joël Gaerthé shared on social media, “Let me tell you something about GANGS OF KIN. It's not a story of brutish male rites. Instead, it's a name that plays on the familial bond we feel as cultural junkies and the connection we feel as music lovers. Kinship and being connected is what keeps us from falling. Kin can represent our affinity for each and every unique and seemingly opposite music style that resides within all of us. GANGS OF KIN is the name I dubbed my vessel and I'll use it to explore a plethora of genres in music and art. I'm a singer, producer and songwriter. My name is Joël. We are all GANGS OF KIN.”
