Cody Frost Releases Debut Song “verbal warnings”
- British singer-songwriter Cody Frost released a debut song “verbal warnings” with an accompanying music video on February 26, 2021.
The song received its first play during BBC Radio 1 Best New Pop.
Her lyrics are born from her own experiences, which are heady highs and crashing lows, despair and disillusionment, self-care and catharsis.
Cody Frost said of the song, “I used to work in a kids soft play area that was part of a pub,” Cody Frost said of the song. “My boss there was an absolute douchebag who just lived for his job, which made me so angry. The only way I could channel that anger was to write a song about him and people like him in general – those people who think they're superior to you because they've got a company car and think they're set for life.”
Cody Frost entered The Voice UK in 2016 at 16. After the The Voice, she has posted covers of songs by Frank Ocean, Nirvana and Slipknot to YouTube.
She soon became a regular busker in the centre of Manchester. Finally, she debuted with “verbal warnings” via Truth Records.
