Faouzia Teams Up With John Legend for New Song “Minefields”
- Moroccan-Canadian singer-songwriter Faouzia teamed up with American singer-songwriter John Legend to release a new song “Minefields”.
This marks the first collaboration between Faouzia and John Legend.
The song follows up her latest EP “Stripped” released in August and will appear on her upcoming debut album. It was written by Johnny Goldstein, Sam Martin, Jacob Kasher, Halatrax, Faouzia, Charlie Puth and Ali Tamposi.
“'Minefields' examines what we, as humans, are willing to do to reunite with a loved one - whoever it may be,” Faouzia said. “It poses the question, during times of desperation or despair, what risks are we willing to take, driven by the power of love? This is especially poignant during these trying times.”
“Working with John on this record was an absolute dream come true," she said about the collaboration. "I've looked up to him since I was a child - he's truly a generational voice and an icon. I was honoured that he wanted to join me on this and truly can't imagine the song without him.”
“I'd love for listeners to get what they need from my voice,” she said in a statement. “If they feel healed or happy, that would be amazing. I hope it's a safe place for them. I'm just a normal girl trying to be the best version of myself and help others do the same. I care a lot.”
