American singer-songwriter Bebe Rexha teamed up with American rapper Doja Cat to release a new song “Baby, I'm Jealous” on October 9, 2020.
The track will appear on her upcoming sophomore album (yet-untitled). It was written by Bebe Rexha, Doja Cat, Justin Tranter and Jussifer.
This marks the first collaboration between Bebe Rexha and Doja Cat.
“'Baby, I'm Jealous' is a song I wrote about embracing my insecurities," Bebe Rexha said in a statement. "It's about the way social media has heightened my jealousy which can affect how I feel about myself.”
“We are constantly flooded with the highlights of other people's lives, and at times I find myself comparing my worth and beauty to others,” she continued. “It's part of the human process to experience jealousy—ultimately, this is an anthem to embrace those feelings as a form of empowerment.”
The new album is inspired by her mental health journey. Bebe Rexha said, “[has] a tracklisting and it's really exciting. I'm about to pick my next single... either a slower one or an up-tempo one. I promise you my team and I have been working harder than ever. Every day, every single week. We haven't stopped.
