Back in January, Toronto-based alt-pop singer-songwriter Alex Porat released her self-title debut EP. Followed by, she released “happy for you”, and “only hanging cause i'm lonely”.
On August 5th, she released a new song “never say ily again” with an accompanying music video directed by Iris Kim.
The track is rhythmic syns pop song unlike previous singles.
Alex Porat said of the song, “It felt like the right thing to pair this sad feeling with a fun upbeat song. I usually use humour to cope with pain and sadness so it felt very real the way the track is the opposite of what I’m trying to say. I’m a dramatic person at times especially when it feels like the end of the world so this song is a great reminder that any negative feelings that I’ve felt in the past are temporary and they do go away.
