Donate to support families affected by the crisis in Ukraine ➔ Katie Melua Premieres New Song “Airtime”
Georgian-British singer-songwriter Katie Melua will release her eighth studio album “Album No. 8” for the first time in four years on October 16, 2020.
Earlier this month, the first single “A Love Like That” was released from the album.
Following the song, she premiered a new song “Airtime” along with a music video directed by Charlie Lightening.
She co-wrote the song with her long-time collaborators, bassist Tim Harries and guitarist Luke Potashnick.
In the press release, Katie Melua describes the song, “in particular, the pressure to believe that the love of your life is out there somewhere.”
The video was shot in Herne Bay on the England's South Coast following APA lockdown guidelines for two days. The clip features British actor Billy Howle, following previous video.
She said, “I loved working with Charlie Lightening, we had lots of talks about how to make it a meaningful work and deal with the new limits on filming. We went with just me and Billy Howle on screen, we tried to show with subtle gestures and nuances the truth of love in its early stages.”- source : Essex Magazine
