Donate to support families affected by the crisis in Ukraine ➔ Carlie Hanson Releases New Song “Stealing All My Friends”
American singer-songwriter Carlie Hanson released her second single of 2020 called “Stealing All My Friends” following “Daze Inn” released back in March.
It was written by Skylar Mones, Gregory Hein, Dale Anthoni and Carlie Hanson. The accompanying music video was directed by Danielle DeGrasse-Alston.
The song pays a tribute to Lil Peep and Mac Miller. She wrote the song about losing friends to drug addiction and the video shows a message, “If you are struggling with substance abuse, please call the SAMHSA National Helpline at: 1-800-622-4357”.
“Since the passing of two of my favorite artists, Lil Peep and Mac Miller, I have wanted to write a tribute song to the both of them,” Carlie Hanson said. “When I first sat down to actually write ‘Stealing All My Friends,’ it became something bigger, deeper, and more personal. We all have somebody in our lives who has struggled with or been affected by drug addiction in some way. Some are strong enough to overcome it and some unfortunately, are not… it is real and something that I felt needed to be talked about.”- source : Idolator
