Gary Kemp Releases New Song “I Know Where I'm Going”
London-based singe-songwriter and former British new wave band Spandau Ballet's guitarist, Gary Kemp released a new song “I Know Where I'm Going” on January 10, 2025.
The song is the third single off of his upcoming third studio album “This Destination”, following “This Destination” and “Put Your Head Up”.
The new album is set to be released on January 31, 2025 via East West Records.
The track was written by Gary Kemp and produced by Toby Chapman and Gary Kemp, with string arrangements by John Metcalfe.
He recorded the song at Reformation Studios and Rak Studios, featuring British folk singer-songwriter Sam Lee.
The song is accompanied by an AI-generated music video directed by Mike Bennion.
Gary Kemp said of the song, “It's the most personal on the record... It had to go last - it just made sense”.- The new album comprises 11 songs (deluxe edition 14 songs), produced by Gary Kemp and Toby Chapman.
It is his first album in four years since the 2021 album “Insolo”.
The album is his most personal to date and sees the songwriter channel his thoughts and feelings about the past, present and future through the guise of uncanny storytelling and character work. The album is simultaneously semi-autobiographical and an exercise in empathetic scene-setting. -
