Pixie Lott Announces New Album “Encino”, Premieres New Song “Somebody's Daughter” on BBC Radio 2
British singer-songwriter Pixie Lott returned to music for the first time in a decade.
She has announced her fourth studio album “Encino” will be released on September 27, 2024.
The album is her first LP in a decade since the 2014 self-titled album and comprises an autobiographical 13-track collection of romance, family, and nostalgia.
The album title is named after the neighbourhood where it was crafted in Los Angeles.
Pixie Lott said of the album, “I can't believe it's been 10 years since my last album, but I'm so excited to be back doing what I love the most. I'm taking risks this time. Previously, I've gone in the direction others have envisioned for me but nobody really ever pushed me to try the things I wanted. It's scary but I'm going with my heart now – I want to show other sides of myself. I've always wanted to do something with a timeless, classic sound that could be played at any point in time.”- From the album, she premiered the first single called “Somebody's Daughter” on BBC Radio 2 The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show.
The song sees her turn her pen towards toxic online behaviour and bullying.
The track was written by Daniel Omelio, Dave Gibson, Jeeve, and Pixie Lott. Produced by JeeveDave Gibson.
The accompanying music video was directed by Dean Sherwood.
She said of the song, “I try not to read any negative stuff online, but sometimes you can't help it. Somebody's Daughter is a reminder that we're all human - we need to be kind and put ourselves in someone else's shoes more”. -
Also, she told Metro.co.uk about the song, “Somebody's Daughter, I feel like it was the perfect first song because it shows me singing with a full band in the most dramatic way. It also has an empowering message, not just for girls but for everyone, to remind them to spread love and kindness, and stand up for yourself, which is something I wouldn't have done in the past.” - source : BBC Radio 2
