HONNE Announces New Album “OUCH”, Shares New Song “Girl In The Orchestra”
London-based art-pop duo HONNE, consisting of James Hatcher (producer) and Andy Clutterbuck (vocals/producer), has announced their fourth studio album “OUCH” will be released on September 6, 2024.
The album their first project in three years since the 2021 album “Let's Just Say the World Ended a Week from Now, What Would You Do?” and comprises a 16-track.
The duo wrote, recorded, produced, and mixed by themselves in London.
Andy Clutterbuck said of the album, “The new album is largely about my kids. It's about the wonderful things they bring to your life, but then also the isolation parenthood can bring, before coming through the other side. It's a playful way to say: it's wonderful, but it's going to hurt.”
He continued, “One of the things we've been looking forward to is for this album was being able to go back to how we started. It's very us, everything we've done is made by us, and we wanted to be across it all and take back control. It feels really nice to get it back and put your stamp on everything.”- The duo shared on social media, “We've both been through enormous life changes over the last couple of years. We've had some of the most beautiful, deeply love-filled moments of our lives, whilst also some of the most frightening and challenging moments too. They're all recorded in this album. Just to make sure we squeezed every last drop of personality into it - it was written, recorded, produced, performed and mixed by just us two, in London.”
From the album, the duo released a new song “Girl In The Orchestra” on June 14, 2024,
The song is the third single off of the album, following “Imaginary” and “Songs In My Head”.
It was written by James Hatcher and Andy Clutterbuck. The accompanying animated video was directed by Jenny Jokela. -
Andy Clutterbuck said of the song, “When I was younger, I joined my school orchestra cause a girl I liked played the flute. I didn't even read music at the time so was quite out of my depth. School crushes were always a little hard to navigate and could end up being quite painful. 'Girl In The Orchestra' tells this story.”
Director Jenny Jokela said of the video, “'Girl in the Orchestra' is a hand painted animation, using acrylic paint on paper. I feel the painted technique and look matches and adds texture to the warm and funny tone of the love story that is central to the video.”
