American country rock band Wayland, consisting of Mitch Arnold (vocals/guitar) and Phill Vilenski (guitar), released the third single called “Waters” from their upcoming third studio album “On the Way” on March 1, 2024.
Written by Mitch Arnold and Phillip Vilenski during an inspired session in Joshua Tree, California, “Waters” emerged from a moment of transcendence at a local desert party.
The song tells the story of a chance encounter, painting a vivid picture of fleeting connections and the magic of being under the stars in Joshua Tree that night.
Mitch Arnold, reflecting on the inspiration behind the single, remarked, “something changed inside of me that night, watching her pour a drink next to the sunset. 'Waters' is about capturing those moments that stay with you forever.”
Producer Phillip Vilenski crafted the track in Wayland's home studio in Joshua Tree, and seamlessly blends the band's signature heartland rock and roll sound with a poetic and mysterious lyrical narrative.
