Los Angeles-based DJ trio Cheat Codes teamed up with American DJ duo Two Friends to release a new song “The Way It Is” on February 23, 2024.
Cheat Codes and Two Friends first performed the song at Big Bootie Land in Los Angeles on February 10, 2024.
The song features an interpolation of Bruce Hornsby and the Range's 1986 “The Way It Is”.
For Cheat Codes, the song is the forth collaborative single since the 2023 album “One Night in Nashville”, following “Location” featuring A7S, “You Don't Even Know Me” with Sam Feldt and “Head Up” featuring Birdy.
While for Two Friends, the song is their first release of 2024.
The track was written by Jordan Shaw and Parx Parx. Produced by Paul Harris, Two Friends, and Cheat Codes.

We have always loved the Cheat Codes dudes and have wanted to do something together so we were all pumped when this collab came together,” Two Friends said of the song. “It was really cool working with an iconic interpolation and re-imagining it for 2024.
