James Bay Releases New Song “All My Broken Pieces”
British singer-songwriter and guitarist James Bay released a new song “All My Broken Pieces” on October 19, 2023.
He wrote the song with Jamie Hartman and Boots Ottestad in 2013 for his debut album “Chaos and the Calm”.
Recently, he found out the original demo of the song and felt to okay about releasing it now.
He re-recorded the track with producer Gabe Simon.
James Bay said of the song, “Suddenly I was leaving all the time to travel around the world, I was rarely ever in the same place for more than a week. I somehow felt very vulnerable talking about all of this in songs. It was scary to share that I could feel so broken by experiences that I knew others would've killed for. And it felt very revealing to talk about having someone so vital to me who knew how to put me back together when I felt like falling apart. It's taken a long time but I've always loved this song and it feels like it's finally time to let it out into the world.”- James Bay shared on social media with the demo version of the song, “This is the original demo for 'All My Broken Pieces'. I wrote this in 2013. It's taken me a long time to feel okay about putting this song out, it means a lot to me. It's about some very personal stuff about personal sort of growth and struggle and insecurity and having somebody in you life as I was lucky enough to still am, who knows how to help put you back together when you fall apart. It's crazy to hear it. 10 years later after I wrote it and made this demo, but I've been in the studio recorded it, and now it's coming out, it's my next single.”
