Leigh-Anne Performs “My Love” & Doja Cat's “Paint The Town Red” on BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge
British singer-songwriter and former Little Mix, Leigh-Anne appeared on BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge to perform her latest song “My Love” and a cover of American rapper Doja Cat's “Paint The Town Red”.
BBC Radio 1's Live Lounge will air a new performance every Monday through Thursday for the entirety of October.
Leigh-Anne is the sixth musical guest and also is first solo perform on the program.
Leigh-Anne shared on social media, “My first solo Live Lounge and definitely not the last was shaking like a leaf and my body went all hot but I'm so proud of myself! I love performing this song SO much, especially with my incredible band! Thanks for all the lovely messages and huge thank you to BBC Radio 1 for having me play a part in Live Lounge month.”
“My Love” was released as the second single from her upcoming debut solo album last month.
On the track, she teamed up with Nigerian singer-songwriter Ayra Starr.
Leigh-Anne said of the song, “When we wrote this song, I just knew it was something special, it perfectly captures the essence of who I want to be as a solo artist. That feel-good, powerful, and anthemic song - it's all about celebrating self-love and embracing its incredible power, and when there was a discussion on a feature I know Ayra was the only one who could embody and amplify this message.”
“Paint The Town Red” was released by Doja Cat from her fourth studio album “Scarlet” back in August.
The song reached No. 1 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and the UK Singles chart.
Doja Cat first performed the song at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards.
