STONE Premieres New Song “IF YOU WANNA” on BBC Radio 1
Liverpool-based rock band STONE, consisting of Finley Power (vocals/guitar), Sarah Surrage (bass), Elliot Gill (lead guitar) and Alex Smith (drums), premiered a new song “IF YOU WANNA” on BBC Radio 1's Future Sounds with Clara Amfo.
The song will appear on their upcoming second EP “PUNKADONK 2”, which is set to be released on October 27, 2023.
The track was written by Alex Smith and Finley Power. Produced by Rich Costey.
This is the song about dopamine hit that people get just like being chronically online.
The band lead singer Finley Power told Clara Amfo about the song, “With 'IF YOU WANNA', I had a couples gin and tonics in the house. And I really wanted to write a new song. We wanted to write really like the anthemic song. And when that line came, it was just like, life has changed by social fears. Like 'inject another like, please' just kind of like as much as like goes on these days you are source. Pure I can't lie I am as well. I like when I photo well on Instagram and you're like, it's a dopamine hit. It's almost like a gambling addiction with just social media and likes just you want to feel these feel better when you see it more like it or.”
Bassist Sarah Surrage added, “I can't I feel like if my check on screen time it just makes me feel ridiculous. Just endless scrolling. I just can't help myself.”- The band is currently working on their debut album with producer Rich Costey.
But, the band has announced their headline tour will push to February 24, 2023 due to recording the debut album.
The band shared, “We are in the midst of recording new songs for our debut album in the US and its going amazing. We have decided we need to stay here longer to get the record finished and perfect for all of you with our ace producer Rich Costey. Because of this we are sad to say we need to push our headline tour to Feb/Mar 24. We're buzzing to get this music to you and even more exited to come and see you & have a riot at the gigs.
