Sufjan Stevens Releases New Song “Will Anybody Ever Love Me?”
Last month, American singer-songwriter Sufjan Stevens announced his tenth studio album “Javelin” would be released on October 6, 2023 via Asthmatic Kitty.
The album comprises 10-track, written and produced by Sufjan Stevens.
From the album, he released the second single called “Will Anybody Ever Love Me?” along with a music video on September 13, 2023. following “So You Are Tired”.
The song features additional vocals from American writer Adrienne Maree Brown, New York-based singer-songwriter Hannah Cohen, and Megan Lui.
Adrienne Maree Brown said, “The first time I sang the song I started crying, I was so moved by the honesty of the questions. Sufjan is an impossibly brave and gifed writer.”
Hannah Cohen said, “Being in the studio with Sufjan is like watching an alchemist at work. He creates a new realm, building our voices from a gentle choir, then morphing us into sirens raging from the sea.”
Megan Lui said, “'Will Anybody Ever Love Me?' felt like a glimpse into Sufjan's past records but spins into an epic collage of voices and instruments. His vision of melody and composition are astonishing and working with him and Hannah in the room was pure joy.”- The accompanying video was directed by Stephen Halker.
