The track was written by Carrie Underwood, David Garcia, and Lydia Vaughn. Produced by David Garcia and Carrie Underwood.
Carrie Underwood said of the song, “'Give Her That' is a story about a relationship that is no longer. The person’s kind of moved on and it’s like, 'I’ve seen who you're with. She’s beautiful, she's perfect. I’ll give her that. But you can't give her the time that we spent together,' And I feel like everybody’s kind of got some of that in our lives, you know? If you’re stalking somebody on socials and you’re like, 'Yeah they’ve moved on. Of course, really glad for them. That’s great. But I had him first.'”
- She is currently supporting Guns N' Roses for select dates on their 2023 Global Tour.
“I’ve been a massive GNR fan for pretty much my whole life. I’ve been able to sing with Guns N’ Roses and Axl [Rose] separately a few times... I think the things I look forward to most are obviously watching their show, and being around them,” she said. “But it’s just such a fun vibe. Their fans are absolutely incredible and so supportive and just have been so much fun [in] everything that I’ve seen from them.”
She added, “But [I’m] also looking forward to just doing some things in our set list that I might not get the chance to do any other time. I wanted to be me, but I also wanted to bridge the gap between me and Guns N’ Roses a little bit, so we’re just having a blast with it.”
