Lauren Spencer Smith Releases Debut Album “Mirror”
Canadian singer-songwriter Lauren Spencer Smith released her debut album “Mirror” on July 14, 2023 via Republic Records.
The album comprises 15-track, with guest appearances from GAYLE and Em Beihold, including seven preceding singles.
Produced by Alex Niceforo, Christian Fiore, Cian Ducrot, David Burris, Geena Fontanella, Gordon Groothedde, Greg Kurstin, Hazey Eyes, Jakke Erikson, Jason Evigan, Keith Sorrells, Nick Ruth, OAK, Ryan Marrone and T.I Jakke.
Lauren Spencer Smith said of the album, “I've been working on this album for years. It has been with me through so much in my life, the highs and lows, and it means more to me than I can put into words. It tells a story of reflection, healing and growth. The title comes from the one thing in my life that's seen me in every emotion through that journey - my bedroom and bathroom mirror.”
She continued, “Throughout this album process, I went through so many different emotions and experiences. I've learnt so much about myself and had to do a lot of self healing to be able to write these songs and concepts. When I write music, it's a reflection of myself and personal experiences, so I knew I wanted the title of the album to have a representation of that. Going through difficult life situations can make you feel so alone, and I definitely felt that way.”-
She added, “When I thought about the one thing in my life that has seen me through everything - the good, the bad, the mentally unstable, the highs and lows, it was my bathroom mirror. The amount of times I've cried on the bathroom floor to these songs is hard to process, but is part of my story, and that's how I knew “mirror” was the perfect name for this body of work. I hope this album helps even just one of you heal as much as it has helped me. Myself and many others have worked so hard to get these songs to a place that felt good enough to show the world, so I hope it brings everything you've been expecting.”
