Donate to support families affected by the crisis in Ukraine ➔ Alan Chang Releases New Song “Natalie Explain” featuring Dave Koz
Los Angeles-based jazz pianist and singer-songwriter Alan Chang teamed up with American saxophonist Dave Koz to release a new song “Natalie Explain”.
The song is the second single off of his upcoming album “Check Please”, which is set to be released later this summer.
The track emerged from a songwriting exercise Alan Chang took on as a challenge where the name of a specific person is used, rather than from an autobiographical story of the jazz artist's life.
It was written by Alan Chang and Alex Lilly, and produced by Ryan Lerman.
The new album comprises 10-track, featuring Welsh bassist Pino Palladino and American saxophonist Dave Koz.
Alan Chang said of the album, “This is a singer-songwriter album steeped in jazz. I'm trying to write simple songs that are a vehicle for improvisation and can be expanded live with solos.”- Photo by Robbie Jeffers
