Jenny Kern Releases New Song “Move On”
Last September, Brooklyn-based Canadian dream-pop singer-songwriter Jenny Kern released her sophomore EP “Your Heart Knows” for the first time in almost a year.
Her music details everything from anxiety, depression, getting older, interpersonal relationships, gratitude, love and loss.
On June 2, she released a new song “Move On” as the first music since the EP.
The song conveys acknowledging the need to let go of someone or something.
The track was written by Jenny Kern and Rich Tuorto.
Jenny Kern said of the song, “This song is about moving on after the end of a relationship. It's an anthem, a sort of charging forward and getting to understand what you want. At first you don't know how to navigate the emotions that are hitting you in the moment so the lyrics toy with that vulnerability. But ultimately it's an empowering way to realize you can heal yourself.”
- Jenny Kern continued, “Wrote this one with Rich Tuorto in one afternoon at his studio in Brooklyn. I came in with a chorus idea, Rich got on the Juno and it all just fell into place… I'm so proud of what it became and what we created. I feel like this song not only represents a literal moving on from a past relationship but also a new beginning as an artist.”
She added, “I hope this song ignites something within and makes you realize you deserve whatever your heart wants.”
