Kelly Clarkson Releases New Song “favorite kind of high”
American singer-songwriter Kelly Clarkson released the second sinle called “favorite kind of high” from her upcoming tenth studio album “Chemistry” on May 19, 2023.
The song follows up a double a-side single with “Mine” and “Me”, released last month.
The accompanying live video was directed by Weiss Eubanks and Jonny Mars, who filmed her one-night-only performance of the album last month at Belasco Theatre in Los Angeles.
The track was written by Kelly Clarkson, Jesse Shatkin, and Canadian singer-songwriter Carly Rae Jepsen. Produced by Jesse Shatkin.
In the video, Kelly Clarkson said, “I wanted it to be about the whole relationship. One thing I have learned, in a lot of therapy, is that it's not about just the bad. It was a whole thing. It doesn't mean everything is bad. There's nothing like that high when you first see someone, and you're like, 'Oh s—, I wonder if they're single.'”
The new album is set to be released on June 23, 2023 and comprises 14-track, featuring guest appearances from Steve Martin and Sheila E.
“Having chemistry with someone is an incredible, and overwhelming, feeling. It's like you have no choice in the matter,” Kelly Clarkson said of the project in a press statement. “You are just drawn to each other. This can be good and bad. This album takes you down every path that chemistry could lead you down.”
