Lukas Graham Drops Acoustic Version & New Music Video for “Home Movies” featuring Mickey Guyton
Danish pop band Lukas Graham has released a new acoustic version of “Home Movies” along with the Frederik Barasinski-directed music video featuring American country music singer-songwriter Mickey Guyton.
The original version of the song is featured in their fourth studio album “4 (The Pink Album)”, which was released back in January.
The track was written by David LaBrel, Jaramye Daniels, Nicolle Galyon, and Rory Andrew. Produced by Markus Artved.
“'Home Movies' is a ballad, a duet that looks at life rather than love,” the band frontman Lukas Forchhammer said of the song in a statement. “The coincidence of boy meets girl and the retrospective understanding that life is lived in the present but understood backwards... Mickey's vocals really make the lyrics that much better... My favorite line is from the chorus 'everybody's got a story no one knows' and that's the truth. We all have our inglorious moments and obscure pasts to deal with and that's what makes life so beautiful; when we manage to rise above the prejudice and make something unique of ourselves.”
Mickey Guyton said, “What a dream it has been to collab with Lukas Graham. This song has a special heart to it that I hope y'all can relate to as much as I do. I can't wait to sing this one live with you too Lukas.”
Lukas Forchhammer added, “We had amazing time recording this acoustic version of Home Movies. A few of the events from this recording ended up on the album version too. And that's what happens when you have fun in the studio, good things become even better!”
He said of one footage with his father of the video, “One of my favorite clips in the Home Movies video. Makes me feel like my dad is still here with us, until I see my own 22 year old face and realize this was filmed so long ago. Looking back through all the old footage it was nice to see him again and hear his voice.”
